When developing this project, I began by thinking to myself: What would my world look like if the Bay of Pigs Invasion would have been successful? From this question, I created the concept for a conference that would join together two generations of Cuban people, those that had lived in Cuba and those in my generation who identify as Cuban- American. Due to the fact that my generation is now going out into the work force and beginning to create families of our own, this conference would be dedicated to an open discussion about what the next move of the Cuban people will be. How should we raise our children to keep true with Cuban tradition? Should we go back to Cuba? What can we do for the Cuban people as a generation of Cuban- Americans? .

The Theory
The Theory is an album and tour concept created for Grand Master Flash that would take place in the Bronx, New York. The tour would entail visiting different high schools in the area in order to give them a show that ties together Math and Science through the use of Hip Hop history. Grand Master flash often admits that he would be nowhere without his knowledge of math and science. This is because he believes that they were the foundation to his Quick Mix Theory. It was this theory that made him one of the three founders of hip hop and cemented his name in history forever. Teaming up with the South Bronx Educational Foundation, this tour would hopefully raise money to further education in this area.

Ligature
Design Symposium
Creative direction, Branding,
& Exhibition design
Ligature is a weekend-long design symposium run entirely by University of Florida graphic design students. The weekend features talks and workshops with highly recognized guest designers. The exhibition and accompanying events are intended to motivate, inspire, and create greater design awareness throughout our community.
Partially funded by Student Government and AIGA Gainesville, this event has become a gathering for alumni, designers from the community, and world-renowned artists who visit to share their insight in a rapidly changing industry.
I planned, fundraised, branded, and executed everything from start to finish with the help of my Co-Creative Director, Brittney Johnson. Not to mention, we had the privilege of hanging out with Bryony Gomez-Palacio and Jason Murphy all weekend.
Bryony Gomez- Palacio
Born and raised in Mexico City, Bryony Gomez-Palacio is a graphic designer and writer now living in Bloomington, IN. She is co-founder of UnderConsideration a graphic design firm and publishing enterprise all rolled into one—where she manages the behind-the-scenes of the online network comprised of Brand New, FPO, Quipsologies and The Art of the Menu. Bryony has co-authored five books with her husband and partner, Armin Vit. Most recently, they conceived and presented the Brand New Conference, the Brand New Awards, the FPO Awards, and the recently launched lecture series by The Austin Initiative for Graphic Awesomeness.
Jason Murphy
Formerly as one of a dozen creative directors overseeing brand for Nike North America, Jason Murphy has conceived and executed multi-million dollar campaigns that continue the company’s dominance in athletic apparel and footwear. His creative thinking and narrative concepts are at the heart of print and digital campaigns with Nike Athletic Training, Nike Basketball, NFL Football and NCAA College Sports. Murphy is most proud of his efforts to engage youth in team sports and return Nike to its role as exclusive apparel manufacturer with the NFL in 2012, generating $56 million in annual revenue. When he’s not collaborating with art directors and photographers to capture imagery for print and broadcast campaigns, Murphy is at the helm of immersive experiences that engage consumers and activate social media—from Nike’s NBA All-Star Weekend in New York to a partnership with comedian Kevin Hart, which launched spontaneous 5K runs all over the country.
